The Sentinel

The sole survivor of an Army plane crash in the Peruvian hinterlands, Jim Ellison subsisted for nearly two years on his raw animal instincts. When he returned to America and became a police lieutenant, Jim discovered that the abilities that had kept him alive in the jungle now gave him extraordinary senses of perception. With the help of Captain Simon Banks and a grad student Blair Sandburg, Jim now attempts to use these powers to apprehend a terrorist bomber called the Switchman.

The town of Cascade is brought to its knees when Garrett Kincaid, a notorious criminal that Jim Ellison had arrested years before, seizes control of the town's police station with the help of his gang of felons.

After witnessing the death of undercover officer Danny Choi at the hands of a sniper named Tommy Juno, Jim uses his enhanced vision to identify and apprehend the killer. But the case against Juno is thrown out of court when its decided that no human could possibly have seen as far as Ellison had claimed.

When Blair unknowingly moves into an apartment next to the drug lab of a local gang (dubbed the 357), Jim suddenly finds himself embroiled in the beginnings of an all-out gang war.

Blair and Jim, along with forensics specialist Carolyn Plummer, suspect that a series of seemingly unrelated murders are actually the work of a serial killer.

Jim and Blair are assigned to escort Derek Wilson, a key witness in a local homicide case, on his train ride from Oregon to the courthouse in Cascade. Wilson has essential information that will link his employer to charges of arson and murder.

While guest-lecturing in Blair's anthropology class, Jim saves the entire building from a deadly gas leak only to discover that the leak was designed to distract the campus' attention while a canister of the Ebola virus was being stolen from the hazardous materials lab.

After stopping an armored car heist, Ellison is struck by the high-tech weaponry at the criminals' disposal.

Jim's sentinel abilities detect something strange at the crime scenes of all the recent jewelry robberies but he's unable to figure out exactly what's causing the reaction.

Blair forces Jim to take a vacation at a remote monastery. Initially reluctant, Ellison begins to enjoy the solitude until one of the monks is found dead.

During a flight to South America, Captain Banks and his son Daryl crash land in the Peruvian jungle and eventually stumble across a shady lumbering operation run by a man named Reischer.

Ellison and Sandburg receive little cooperation from the witnesses, but Ellison's "Sentinel" intuition leads him to discover a gold neckchain worn by Sergei is, in fact, radioactive.

Ellison and Sandburg are sent to a college campus to investigate the murder of Fred Turlock, a maintenance worker.

During the search for a kidnapped little girl, the skeptical Ellison and Sandburg receive help from Charlie Spring, a "psychic."

Ellison and Sandburg spot a man, a mob accountant, who they thought was dead. When they try to catch up to him, he nearly runs them over escaping in his car.

An armored truck explodes on a freeway overpass and rains hundred-dollar bills down into a ghetto neighborhood. Ellison and Sandburg investigate, but Marcus Watson, the sole witness, has vanished and no one in the ghetto is giving back the money they found.

Dawson Quinn, a cop-killing thief who stole five million dollars from the Federal Reserve that has never been found, is transported in an armored police vehicle through a stretch of forested wilderness by a team of cops assisted by Banks, Ellison and Sandburg.

A construction foreman is murdered at a racetrack under renovation, and his body is hidden in a pillar. Weeks later, Banks attends the opening of the racetrack with friends, and Ellison attends a police benefit at the track's turf club. During the benefit event, one of Banks' friends is pushed from the roof, and falls to his death in what looks to the partygoers to be a suicide.

Eight years ago: A 12-year-old girl named Stacey is woken in the middle of the night by her parents, who take her and flee their home. The family's car is run off the road, killing the parents and placing Stacey in a coma.

In the Peruvian jungle, a Chopec Sentinel named Incacha is enraged by the pollution of his land by a contaminated oil well and the murder of one of his tribesman by an employee of the Cyclops Oil Co. ... Back in Cascade, Ellison foils a burglary but accidentally shoots a security guard. Luckily, the guard is OK, but Ellison's dismay causes his Sentinel powers to disappear.

When basketball players on the Cascade Jaguars start turning up dead, Jim must calculate the difference between a good shot and a deadly one.

Blair falls for Jim's new neighbor; a beautiful woman named Iris, but learns that this particular girl next door isn't as innocent as she appears. Iris and her ex-boyfriend Chance haven't exactly been living the American dream and the smitten Sandburg is quickly sucked into this couple's twisted nightmare.

While Captain Banks, Blair, and Jim are fishing together they stumble across a poaching ring that's hooked up with a powerful Chinese gangster named Ho Ng.

When a local Santeria ceremony goes wrong, one man is dead and the only witness is a woman who was deep in a religious trance while she unknowingly watched the murder. Ellison and Sandburg need to enter into Cascade's Little Havana community in order to uncover the killer.

Jim Ellison can't explain how Warren Chapel, a permanent patient at a maximum-security mental institution, has detailed firsthand knowledge of a string of grisly murders occurring around Cascade.

When Captain Banks is injured in a shootout at the Cascade National Bank, Captain Sarah Finkelman steps in as his replacement and steps on some toes. She rubs Ellison and Sandburg the wrong way with her new policy changes and obsessive control.

It's guys' night out for Ellison and Sandburg as they watch Sandburg's old buddy, boxer "Sweet" Roy Williams fight a few rounds. Things turn decidedly sour when Sweet Roy winds up dead and all the leads point to his jealous little brother, Jamie.

Professor Robert McCain, the Rainier University expert in serial killers, turns up dead and Ellison is forced to re-open a case that dates back to his youth. As a 10-year-old Jim discovered the last known victim of the infamous Country Club Strangler and it's haunted him ever since.

Some visiting Buddhist monks start dying in Cascade's Chinatown district and Lila, Jim's old love from his days in Bali, seems to be involved. Jim's investigation is hampered by some overwhelming sensory overloads that all but incapacitate him.

Ellison, Blair, and Captain Banks are trapped in Clayton Falls when some overzealous military officers quarantine the small town. Apparently, an airborne virus wreaked havoc on the community and now everyone's been ordered to stay in protective custody.

When the federal mint is targeted for a major heist, Ellison and Sandburg are joined by Megan Conner, a visiting police officer from Australia, as they prepare to apprehend the robbers in the act.

Jim's friend Roger Corman, a U.S. Marshall, is killed in a car bombing before he can reveal the name of a corrupt marshall that he's uncovered. Ellison must ferret out the traitor but finds his hands tied when the U.S. Marshalls themselves take over the investigation.

When a car comes barreling into the Cascade Police Station in the middle of the night, the Sentinel team finds themselves abruptly thrown into a murder investigation. Initially, their only witnesses are shaken-up but, when an alligator gets loose in the station, everyone goes crazy.

With Ellison having strange visions of jaguars and a series of superhumanly performed thefts occurring around the city, Blair and Jim suspect that he may not be the only sentinel in town.

Blair, Banks, and Megan may be Jim's only hope of overcoming the superhuman stalemate and returning Cascade to a one sentinel town.

It appears that Brad Ventriss and Suzanne Nadine, two students in Blair's anthropology class, are engaged in some extracurricular activities that aren't listed in any of the college handbooks.

Ellison knows that the city is in for trouble when Garrett Kincaid, the leader of the Sunrise Patriots militia group, escapes from prison. While Jim tracks the escaped convict, Captain Banks, Daryl Banks, and Blair Sandburg attend a Cascade Jaguars' basketball game.

When Internal Affairs accuses him of stealing money captured in local drug busts, Ellison finds that during this case he's forced to answer the hard questions instead of asking them.

A present day murder leads to a revelation that may be able to finally clear up a 45 year old murder, and vindicate the victim and the boy (now a troubled, haunted man) who saw it happen. And Jim discovers a new ability.

When retired television actor Vince Deal suspects that one of his friends has been murdered he enlists the help of Jim Ellison.

Professional thief Harry wants to see his daughter and grandson one last time, but his position on the FBI's Most Wanted list makes that difficult - especially when another thief is using his MO and has killed two cops during a job.
